Credit controller Jobs in Mississauga, ON

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Mississauga, Ontario. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, produce financial reports, and introduce strategic best practices to the Accounting team. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with various departments to ensure organizational goals are met and the introduction of controls and procedures.

Responsibilities :

• Accurately develop and maintain financial statements and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Implement and ensure adherence to internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
• Fulfill all statutory requirements of the organization including withholding payments (CPP, EI), Income Tax, Goods and Service Tax
• Maintain thorough and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
• Implement monthly variance reporting as compared to budget
• Manage cash flow, prepare cash flow forecast and reconcile bank accounts
• Develop and maintain financial accounting system for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, petty cash, and company credit cards
• Assist in preparing capital expenditure requests and sales and profitability forecasts
• Ensure timely and accurate month end and year end closing
• Recommend improvements to accounting controls and procedures
• Coordinate annual physical inventory and manage the accounting operations
• Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures
• Collaborate on product pricing, costing and margins with internal teams
• Maintain detailed product costing information for various analysis and decision-making purposes
• Implement and maintain variance analyses for productivity, efficiency, and spending
• Review accounts receivable aging each month and proactively follow-up on collections issues
• Collaborate in creating yearly financial and operational budgets with Leadership team and cross-functional teams
• Support in the development of SOPs.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role is required
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Accounting Functions are expected
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is essential
• Expertise in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is required
• Prior experience in Auditing is a must
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is necessary
• Experience in Standard Costing is expected
