In partnership with Spotify, MIK Studio is looking for a Toronto based Creative Strategist for a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Creative Lab sits within Spotify Advertising, the business unit within Spotify that focuses on connecting brands to billions of fans around the world. Our team is Spotify Advertising’s in-house creative agency, responsible for building branded experiences. We collaborate with brands and agencies to inspire, create, and scale creativity with Spotify-first thinking.
We are seeking a seasoned leader to join our talented creative strategy team in Toronto, Canada, dedicated to inspiring the best ideas centered around Spotify through proactive and reactive responses to creative briefs, co-creating and building with our biggest brands, creators, and advertisers today. We’re in search of someone who has both local market expertise and a global skillset with the ability to work with regional teams as well as global partners and fluidly shift between the two.
We are storytellers who are obsessed with how ideas can be brought to life through the superpowers of our platform, and we are looking for someone to lead the team through our next evolution, champion the potential of our products and offerings and elevate our work.
What You’ll Do
- Your time will be split between the local Canadian market (50%) and Global Priority Accounts (50%) working closely with our Global Account Agency leads in New York and London
- Inspire and educate internal and external teams on the power of creativity to connect brands to fans at a local level and with a global lens as well
- Be on the pulse and in-the-know of key cultural moments, trends, and shifts both regionally and globally
- Own and lead Canada’s strategic approach, in deep partnership with the heads of sales in Canada, with the goal to build a world class advertising platform
- Be a Spotify evangelist, inspiring marketers and agencies through creative and Advertising marketing workshops or at industry events in Canada and if required, in the US and EMEA as well
- Lead the strategy for Canada and create compelling integrated creative narratives & initiatives that drive awareness and demand, from a core target audience of creative and media agencies as well as brand marketers in partnership with the Head of Creative Strategy, Americas
- Partner with clients and agencies to develop award-winning, best in class advertising on Spotify at scale
- Manage all operational responsibilities including account and resource management and OKR tracking and reporting, processes within the team and with cross functional teams to ensure impact is captured and efficiency is top of mind
- Identify, develop and maintain a unique position for Spotify’s creative offerings and deliver them in a compelling way to convince partners to explore solutions with us
- Develop, plan and scale approach to supporting top clients; driving approach to JBP support and coordination
- Facilitate inspirational workshops with mid and senior level partners to find the right balance of boundary pushing creative expression and brand realities
- Work closely with other teams within the Creative Lab, including our mighty ops and production team who leads world class craft and execution for our clients, our creative intelligence team who work with our insights and data science teams to understand creative best practices that will inform the development of best in class, effective campaigns on Spotify and a strong bench of global creative leads across all disciplines
- Develop and demonstrate creative thought leadership on industry, advertising, visual and digital culture and trends as input and fodder to inspire internal and external partners
