The TMX group of companies includes leading global exchanges such as the Toronto Stock Exchange, Montreal Exchange, and numerous innovative organizations enhancing capital markets. United as a global team, we’re connecting cross-functionally, traversing industries and geographies, moving opportunity into action, advancing global economic growth, and propelling progress. Through a rich exchange of ideas, meaningful collaboration, and a nimble operating model, we're powering some of the nation's most critical systems, fueling capital formation and innovation, bringing increased opportunity to business visionaries, product ingenuity to consumers, and career exploration to our team.

Ready to be part of the action?

The Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS) serves as Canada’s national securities depository, clearing, and settlement hub, providing the vital infrastructure required to support the integrity and efficiency of the Canadian capital markets. Within this ecosystem, the Asset Services Information Unit manages the entire lifecycle of Corporate Actions data for securities held by CDS. As an Information Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the management, analysis, and reporting of mandatory corporate actions, acting as a high-impact connector within the Canadian capital markets infrastructure.

This role reports to: Manager, Corporate Actions Information

Job Location: This role is hybrid (2-3 days/week in the office) - Based in Montreal, QC.

  • Strategic Partnership:. Liaise directly with Issuers, Legal Counsel, Transfer Agents/Paying Agents, Underwriters, and DTCC, as required, to validate information details, resolve discrepancies, and clarify any legal or tax implications.

  • Operational Optimization: Oversee the rigorous and timely reporting and distribution processing of mandatory corporate action events across internal systems and external platforms. Proactively identify workflow optimization opportunities, implementing best practices and leveraging technology to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.

  • Non-standard Transactions Navigation: Provides general consulting to support custom (non-standard) entitlements or corporate actions functionality. Determine and apply applicable fees for non-standard mandatory corporate action requests following a thorough evaluation.

  • Communication & Dissemination: Draft and finalize Depository bulletins, for timely release to CDS subscribers while upholding established service level standards for accuracy and dissemination via various channels (MT564/568 SWIFT messages, batch files, etc). Research and respond to all related queries professionally and promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Proactive Risk Mitigation & Escalation:.Maintain strict adherence to escalation protocols and proactively identify/document risk mitigation strategies. Continuously analyze internal controls and procedural frameworks to suggest improvements that uphold best-in-class operational standards.

Must Have(s)

  • Industry Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in financial services, capital markets, or post-trade operations.

  • Education: Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

  • Market Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Canadian Securities Industry, including Equities and Fixed Income.

  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.

  • High-Performance Execution: Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority transactions and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and accounting skills to accurately determine exceptional entitlement payments and finalize corporate action processes.
