Hours : Up to 5 hours / week
Salary : $29.17 - $36.46 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)

The mission of UHN's Office of Research Trainees (ORT) is to contribute towards research productivity and excellence at UHN by providing leadership and support in research trainee and postdoc-related matters.? The ORT develops high-quality resources, programming, and opportunities to help research students and postdoctoral researchers excel in their research and build their research and professional development skills.
Working under the direction of the Manager, Office of Research Trainees, the Communications Assistant will help build awareness of the ORT's resources, programs and opportunities by contributing to effective communication internally and externally. The Assistant will create relevant communications and content to engage current and prospective research trainees and postdoctoral researchers, including summaries of recent events and workshops. They are responsible for ensuring the prepared material is professional, engaging, and effective for the audience and platform.
Duties
- Write, contribute to, and edit engaging content for the ORT's website, newsletter, social media, and other communications, as needed.
- Craft event and workshop summaries from the research student or postdoctoral researcher perspective, highlighting key take ways and lessons learned. Where possible, workshop recordings will be provided. In-person attendance at events may be occasionally required.
- Liaise with relevant ORT staff to plan, edit, publish, and promote content.
- Track and analyze metrics and utilize to boost engagement.
- Adhere to submission deadlines.
