As NGE expands its presence internationally, NGE Canada is seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveTechnical Writer to join our team.You will be part of an international team, composed mainly of engineers and construction employees, able to meet the expectations of the local and international markets.We are growing fast in Canada and we need you!About the Project : The Connect 6ix project is a pivotal part of constructing Toronto's new Ontario Line subway. The Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) project is one of many contracts to deliver the Ontario Line, a 15.6-kilometre stand-alone rapid transit line that will connect the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition / Ontario Place.Job Summary : The Technical Writer will create and manage clear, engaging content on construction-related topics for both technical and non-technical audiences. They will collaborate with various teams to ensure documentation aligns with project requirements and client specifications. Responsibilities include managing technical documentation, supporting proposal development, and conducting quality assurance checks. Strategically, they will standardize documentation processes, drive continuous improvement, foster cross-functional collaboration, and integrate digital tools for enhanced document management and team communication.Primary Responsibilities : Content Creation & Management : Research and write clear, concise, and engaging content on various construction-related topics, including project management, materials, safety, and equipment. This content should be tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences across different media formats like proposals, case studies, brochures, and project manuals.Collaboration : Work closely with construction, technical, and procurement teams to ensure all documentation aligns with project requirements, technical standards, and client specifications. This includes drafting, editing, and proofreading content for accuracy and clarity.Documentation Oversight : Manage technical documentation such as operating procedures, specifications, compliance reports, and project timelines, ensuring they are consistently updated and well-organized throughout the project lifecycle.Proposal Support : Collaborate with proposal leads to draft and refine content, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.Quality Assurance : Conduct thorough quality checks on all technical documents to ensure consistency, compliance with industry regulations, and alignment with project objectives.Strategic Responsibilities : Standardization of Documentation : Establish and maintain consistent documentation standards, templates, and processes across all departments to ensure professional, high-quality outputs.Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for streamlining processes and improving documentation efficiency, ensuring that all materials align with Webuild’s corporate identity and strategic objectives.Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing : Foster strong relationships with the construction, technical, and procurement teams, ensuring the integration of cross-functional knowledge into all documentation efforts.Client-Focused Proposals : Collaborate with teams to tailor proposals to client specifications, ensuring the company’s unique value proposition is clearly communicated while maintaining compliance with client requirements and industry standards.Digital Tool Integration : Lead efforts to integrate digital platforms that enhance document management and team collaboration, ensuring seamless communication and version control across departments.Qualifications : Educational Background : Postsecondary degree or diploma in journalism, communications, construction management, or a related field.Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing for the construction industry, with a strong portfolio of written materials including proposals, specifications, and operating procedures.Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and diagramming tools like Visio; experience using content management systems (CMS) and document management software such as SharePoint or Adobe Acrobat.Attention to Detail : Exceptional proofreading, editing, and organizational skills, with a keen eye for accuracy, consistency, and quality.Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of construction terminology, methods, and industry regulations. Experience working on large-scale projects is preferred.Communication : Proven ability to simplify complex technical information for diverse audiences, tailoring content for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.We are an equal opportunity employer.
