Our client, a leading leading Canadian construction and infrastructure company, is seeking a seasoned Director of Construction to oversee a major infrastructure project valued at over $1 billion. This role offers the opportunity to manage a multidisciplinary team and a deliver complex, large-scale project from conception to completion. Key Responsibilities : Lead the construction team, including managing and mentoring eight Project Managers, ensuring project objectives for scope, schedule, and budget are met.Oversee all aspects of construction on a large infrastructure project, including design-build and joint venture partnerships.Develop and implement effective strategies for procurement, subcontractor management, and project delivery.Manage the unionized workforce landscape, ensuring compliance with agreements and fostering positive relationships.Collaborate with design teams, consultants, and sub-trades to coordinate project execution and resolve challenges proactively.Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality controls, and regulatory requirements across all project phases.Provide strategic oversight on project risks, identifying and implementing mitigation measures to ensure successful delivery.Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering trust and ensuring alignment on project goals and milestones.Drive a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the construction team.
