Overview :
As a Civil Contract Administrator, you will oversee contracts for municipal infrastructure and land development, ensuring compliance with construction standards and regulations. Your role involves coordinating with project teams, managing budgets, and communicating effectively with project managers, clients, and contractors. You will handle on-site observations, document approvals, and maintain positive stakeholder relationships, while multitasking across various projects and resolving construction and administration issues.
Must Haves :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years experience in civil contract administration.
Proficiency in managing contracts for municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
Strong understanding of local construction standards and regulations.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and PDF markup tools.
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for occasional business use.
Nice to Haves :
Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Additional certifications such as PMP, AScT, C.E.T., or P.Eng.
Experience in sustainable and environmentally friendly construction practices.
Advanced computer skills, including project management software.
Responsibilities :
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, and inspectors.
Assist in preparing project budgets for construction services.
Evaluate feedback on construction documents and troubleshoot construction issues.
Maintain communication with project managers and clients about project status and quality.
Participate in project status meetings and conduct on-site observations.
Ensure project compliance with contract documents and regulatory requirements.
Assist project managers with client relations related to construction and contract administration.
Provide timely responses for project completion.
Evaluate contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and quality standards.
Conduct or participate in pre-construction meetings.
Review and approve shop drawings, manuals, and other project submittals.
Assemble and verify change order information for approval.
Process contractor payment requests for Certificate of Payment preparation.
Prepare letters of reduction of municipal securities.
Maintain positive relations with municipal, client, and contractor representatives.
