Job DescriptionPosition: Lead Engineer, Marketing Technology & Social Technology
Location: Montreal, Quebec (3 days onsite) - 6 Months
Role Overview
The Lead Engineer for the Marketing Technology & Social Technology team will provide technical leadership, solution design, delivery oversight, and production support across enterprise-scale marketing, customer engagement, social media, and compliance technology platforms.
This role supports a broad ecosystem that may include Adobe Experience Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Workfront, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Stensul, Sprinklr, Proofpoint Patrol, and related integration, provisioning, analytics, and governance capabilities.
The successful candidate will partner with product owners, marketing stakeholders, compliance, cybersecurity, risk, vendor teams, and internal engineering groups to deliver secure, scalable, and well-governed technology solutions. The role requires a strong blend of engineering depth, DevOps discipline, platform ownership, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for Marketing Technology and Social Technology platforms — including solution design, implementation, integration, onboarding, production support, and escalation management.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of platform enhancements, SaaS integrations, automation initiatives, and roadmap capabilities across Martech and SocialTech ecosystems.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate marketing, compliance, analytics, and client engagement objectives into clear technical requirements and scalable engineering solutions.
- Design, implement, and govern secure integrations across enterprise platforms using APIs, identity and access management patterns, data pipelines, provisioning workflows, and vendor-supported integration capabilities.
- Improve platform reliability and operational efficiency through DevOps practices, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, documentation, and continuous service improvement.
- Act as a Level 3 technical escalation point for complex production incidents, root cause analysis, vendor coordination, and remediation planning.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, onboarding guides, architecture materials, and knowledge transfer content for engineering and managed service support teams.
- Lead technical design discussions, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to a collaborative Agile delivery culture.
- Support the design and planning of key architecture deliverables — including security architecture designs, C4 diagrams, architecture decision records, and technical design documents — to document solution scope, risks, controls, dependencies, and implementation decisions.
- Evaluate emerging capabilities such as AI assistants, GenAI-enabled workflow improvements, personalization, analytics, and automation opportunities to improve business outcomes and reduce manual effort.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in technology delivery, software engineering, SaaS platform engineering, digital marketing technology, or enterprise application support.
- Hands-on experience leading technical delivery for enterprise SaaS or marketing technology platforms, including onboarding, configuration, integration, lifecycle management, and production support.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices including automation, source control, release management, CI/CD, environment management, monitoring, and operational readiness.
- Experience with API-based integrations, REST services, JSON, authentication patterns, and troubleshooting integration failures across distributed systems.
- Working knowledge of enterprise identity and access management patterns — including SSO, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, roles, entitlements, and provisioning workflows.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments with a strong sense of ownership, prioritization, collaboration, and accountability.
- Experience with scripting or development languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, PowerShell, shell scripting, SQL, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, key management, encryption, data pipelines, web application infrastructure, networking, proxies, load balancing, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with containerization, Kubernetes, Podman, Git-based development workflows, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Key Vault, Azure Managed HSM, AWS KMS, or AWS CloudHSM — including IAM policies, key lifecycle management, encryption-at-rest concepts, audit logging, and troubleshooting key access or integration issues.
