Job description

Brandt is currently seeking a Truck & Transport Technician for our Estevan Peterbilt location. This position is responsible for the diagnostics, repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in a shop environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble and repair the on road equipment efficiently and effectively
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely
  • Use related instruments, hand/power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately document on work orders all unit information, actions taken, and time spent
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements
  • Road test equipment and verify repairs as required
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems
  • Proven computer/ technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • A commitment to high quality customer service
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds


Required Experience
  • Previous mechanical experience in a truck and coach environment is required
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Transport technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems is considered an asset
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
