MatchBox Consulting GroupVancouver, British ColumbiaMatchBox Consulting Group is currently searching for a Compliance Specialist to join a dynamic and growing project in Western Canada.
This role focuses on managing compliance activities while overseeing the Management of Change (MOC) process. The successful candidate will assist with tracking regulatory submissions and responding to information requests, ensuring compliance with environmental and legislative commitments. This position is suited for an intermediate professional with a background in engineering and project experience in industries like oil and gas, mining, or manufacturing.
Location & Travel :
This is a remote role with occasional travel to Vancouver. Candidates based in Alberta or British Columbia are preferred.
Responsibilities :
Lead and administer the Management of Change (MOC) process, ensuring regulatory compliance throughout project lifecycles.
Track information requests from regulatory agencies and maintain submission records.
Support the development and continuous improvement of compliance management systems, including tracking regulatory, environmental, and project-specific commitments.
Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations, particularly in British Columbia.
Collaborate with internal departments to provide timely responses to regulatory inquiries.
Assist with quality management systems, document control, and compliance tracking systems.
Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective actions related to compliance programs.
Maintain the regulatory compliance dashboard and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
Advise team members on compliance requirements and support other processes like engineering and corporate affairs.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related environmental discipline (e.g., environmental science, biology).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a compliance role, with specific experience in managing regulatory changes (MOC).
Project experience in industries like oil & gas, mining, or infrastructure is essential.
Knowledge of British Columbia’s regulatory framework is an asset.
Experience with compliance tracking systems is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Proficiency with Office 365, MS Project, document management systems (Aconex, iDocs), and Adobe Acrobat.
