Purchaser – Millwork / Architectural Woodwork

Our client is a well-established company specializing in custom millwork, cabinetry, and architectural woodwork for commercial and residential projects. They are currently seeking an experienced Purchaser to join their team and support procurement operations for ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to perform accurate material take-offs
• Source and purchase materials including lumber, panels, veneers, laminates, hardware, and finishes
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely deliveries
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, track shipments, and resolve delivery or quality-related issues
• Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and production teams to forecast material requirements and maintain project schedules
• Monitor lead times, pricing trends, and inventory requirements to improve purchasing efficiency and cost control
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier databases, and procurement documentation
• Ensure purchasing activities align with project budgets and company timelines

Requirements


Qualifications:
• Minimum 6 years of experience within millwork, cabinetry, architectural woodwork, or woodworking manufacturing environments
• Previous purchasing/procurement experience within the millwork industry is required
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings
• Experience sourcing materials such as wood products, veneers, laminates, and hardware
• Strong vendor management, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing/ERP systems is considered an asset
