Job Summary

The Team

The Esquimalt Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Indigenous Services Team is a dedicated group of Outreach Mental Health Clinicians from a variety of disciplines. The team is made up of Psychologist, Psychiatric Nurse, Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Counsellors and Support Workers. The team sees Indigenous Children and Families from Metchosin to Sidney and serves 6 Indigenous Communities as well as Urban Indigenous and Metis children, youth, and families. Together, we bring energy, expertise, and a commitment to knowledge-sharing, working alongside Indigenous families and community partners to deliver wrap-around support. The Role

As the Licensed Psychologist on the Indigenous Services team, you'll play a vital role in providing direct clinical services to Indigenous children, youth, and families by providing, intake services, psychological testing and assessment, integrated practice (children in care), treatment and some crisis intervention. You will consult with your fellow team members in your capacity as a psychologist offering insight into testing, interpretation, and diagnosis. You will work closely with team members, community agencies, schools, hospitals and other ministry programs to provide comprehensive care, including individual, group and family therapy. You will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and passionate team to make a meaningful positive difference in the lives of children, youth, and their families.

Qualifications :

Education and Experience Requirements

• Ph. D in Clinical Psychology.(Applicants with a Ph. D. and eligible for registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) may be considered for appointment at a lower classification. As a condition of continued employment, such an appointee is required to become registered as a Licensed Psychologist.)

NOTE : If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.

About this Position :

This is a part time position (0.8 FTE, 56 hours bi-weekly).

Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
