Shift structure :   Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day

About the Role

CASA’s Indigenous Services team engages with families, communities and other service providers to deliver holistic, Indigenous-informed mental health care for children. Services are based in Indigenous cultures, worldviews and spiritualties.

The Clinical Manager will :

  • Work as the Clinical Lead in the Comprehensive School-Based Mental Health Program by managing daily operations and providing leadership to multidisciplinary teams; including human resource and performance management; coaching, mentoring and clinical supervision; supporting staff education and training; program responsiveness; change management as well as evaluation and quality improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with partner school divisions to support the integration, development and implementation of mental health prevention, promotion and intervention programming.
  • Work closely with the Indigenous Wellness Support Services - Professional Practice Leads to support the integration of traditional Indigenous worldviews, cultural protocols and approaches to mental health care.
  • Identify and manage required clinical and cultural competencies to meet program objectives and outcomes.
  • Oversee and ensure direct reports utilize a holistic, Indigenous-informed, culturally appropriate model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centered, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social, spiritual and cultural factors.
  • Ensure high-quality record management through CASA’s electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • In partnership with the Clinical Practice team, assess and monitor standards of care and adherence to CASA’s clinical policies, procedures, operational plans and any relevant legislation and Acts.
  • Train staff on CASA’s organizational values, policies and practices.
  • Train staff on admission, intake, assessment, treatment planning, clinical documentation and discharge data collection.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with partners and across programs.
  • Act as the first point of contact in the complaint resolution process for patients and families.
  • Provide management coverage across the Indigenous Services portfolio as required.
  • Promote a work environment of safety and care for staff and patients.
  • Be responsible for staff adherence to remote travel and safety procedures.
  • Identify clinical and cultural education needs in consultation with the Senior Manager, Clinical Operations, Indigenous Wellness Support Services and Clinical Practice teams to implement educational priorities.
  • Participate in organizational leadership, clinical operations and clinical practice meetings.
  • Lead team meetings and communities of practice in collaboration with Indigenous Services leadership.
  • Encourage open and transparent communication from staff on matters pertaining to operational efficiencies and internal / external relationships.
  • Obtain team feedback and utilize change management strategies to successfully implement approved program / service changes.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Clinical Operations to identify service delivery improvements and suggest enhancements with the lens of evidence-based practice, CASA strategic and operational plans and Indigenous-informed service delivery.
  • Work with the Indigenous Services team, Wisdom Committee and Senior Manager, Clinical Operations to gather information and implement any required improvements to clinical processes and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Clinical Operations, the Medical Lead and Indigenous Wellness Support Services - Professional Practice Leads to routinely review and plan improvements to enhance program quality.
  • Ensure data collection for evaluation, and actively participate in the reporting process.
  • Incorporate evidence-informed best practice models.
  • Work closely with the Indigenous Wellness Support Services team, Elders and Knowledge Keepers to ensure programs and services are Indigenous-informed and culturally-appropriate, and traditional Indigenous wellness practices and world views are embedded into therapeutic orientation.
  • Recognize OCAP (Ownership, Control, Access and Possession) principles when providing services to and in First Nation and Métis communities.
  • Practice according to the code of ethics and practice standards specific to their discipline, and work with the Clinical Practice department to support the scopes of practice and codes of ethics of other disciplines represented on their teams.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in clinical psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation), occupational therapy or nursing.
  • Current registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and / or youth addictions.
  • Conditions of Employment

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
