Services provided will include preparation of designs, basis of designs, specifications, and drawings associated with various projects.
The type, nature, and extent of engineering services required for an engineering project will vary according to the characteristics and complexity of the project.
The Engineer shall provide the following services, as applicable :
Consultative and Advisory Services
Appraisals or studies based on existing information;
Evaluations, including economic evaluations;
Technical representation on behalf of the client; and
Inspection, testing, or other Services concerning the collection, analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of data and information leading to specialized conclusions and recommendations.
Pre-Design Services
Project scope and / or basis of design document development;
Analysis of conditions or methods of operation, economic analysis, analysis of location of the project, evaluation of alternative design concepts, and similar matters undertaken to establish the sizes, capacities, locations, methods of operation, operating costs, and other principal features that form the basis for conclusions and recommendations on the design and undertaking of a project;
Quality assurance and quality control and Site inspections.
Design Services
Preparation of preliminary sketches and development of specifications;
Preparation of calculations, equipment selection, working drawings, and specifications;
Preparation of cost estimates and completion schedules;
Assisting in preparing specification packages and calling for proposals or tenders;
Analysis of vendor responses and recommendations for tender or proposal acceptance;
Operational Technology Engineer will review shop drawings, equipment design data, plans, and other documents;
Periodic visits to the site to become generally familiar with the progress and quality of the project work;
Keeping informed on the progress and quality of projects; and
Final inspection and warranty inspection.
Engineering Services
Ensure that all work will satisfy the intent of the design and will conform substantially with plans and specifications;
Investigate, report on, and advise on unusual circumstances which may arise during construction or undertaking of field operations;
Assist the project manager with the detailed final inspection, liaison, and other assistance required to expedite the acceptance and takeover of the work by the client;
Support the project manager to, in reviewing progress claims for the purpose of recommending and / or approving progress payments;
Support the project manager to call project meetings and generally follow up on costs, schedules, etc.;
Assist the project manager to ensure that the construction work is in compliance with Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Legislation;
Ensure that supply vendors and construction contractors adhere to their contractual obligations, including quality control requirements; and
Perform commissioning of assets as required.
Other Related Services
Preparation / modification of drawings, diagrams, layouts, general arrangements, and specifications for work assigned to the Engineer;
Confer with engineering staff and power station staff on matters pertaining to the specific assignment;
Performance of as-building of drawings, including performance of field checks and measurements as required;
Checking drawings and electronic drawing files to ensure that they are complete and in conformance with standards and specifications, and arrange for the reproduction and distribution of prints using the client's Reprographic Services;
Meeting with client staff to provide regular project progress updates and review quality / acceptability of work performance and product; and
Coordination and review of design work undertaken by others
Qualifications :
All Operational Technology engineers must meet the following requirements :
The Engineer must be incorporated;
Bachelor's degree in engineering specializing in Electrical / Electronics / Computer / Software / Industrial;
Years of relevant experience in OT Engineering;
The Engineer must satisfactorily pass client Personnel Risk Assessment screening at their own cost;
Registered or eligible to register with APEGS as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training in one of the following disciplines : SCADA, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Software, or Industrial;
Visit project locations at least once at the beginning of the project, and as frequently as the project specifics require;
Experience with :
Network (Switches, Routers, Firewalls)
Storage (NFS, SAN, etc.)
Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.)
Servers and Operating Systems (Linux, Windows)
Database Administration (Oracle, MS SQL)
Active Directory
Scripting (BASH, KSH, Perl, PowerShell, etc.)
Backup and Recovery
Cybersecurity tools and technology
Industrial Control Systems / Operational Technology
Note :
Hybrid Role- Some work is able to be performed remotely, and relative flexibility should be expected. However, the primary worksite is the Clint's Regina offices, and significant time on site is necessary.
This is an initial -year contract with option years ( years total) to be primarily on-site at the client's Regina offices.
