CPG ConnectMontreal, CACardinal Meats is seeking candidates to fill an immediate opening within our marketing team for the role of Channel Manager – Retail. In this role, the Channel Manager will report to Cardinal’s Director of Marketing.
We’re looking for a self-motivated individualwith an intermediate background in retail product development and / or brandmanagement.
Specific accountabilities would include :
- Develop with sales teams, relevant strategic Retail segment goals
- Provides market intelligence and industry data to develop business cases for new product development
- Develop research and rationale to create retail product offerings within current capabilities (outbound)
- Development of launch support programs and on-going marketing support / promotional plans on new product introductions
- Category Tracking, Review and Recommendation for Grocery Retail Channel
- Collaborate with team to assess strategy (branded, private label, white label, etc.) for new product offerings into retail channels
- Provide Sales with Market intelligence (Trends, Competitive Reviews etc.)
- Retail packaging programs – graphic design, layout and structural recommendations
- Retail Category management – Branded SKU optimization
- Monitoring Marketing budget and spend effectiveness on assigned projects
- External Marketing team management and development (working with and directing agency partners, photographers, designers etc. on specific retail projects as required)
- Support marketing services for packaging mock-ups, sell sheets and presentation support materials
The ideal candidate would have :
5-8 years of Retail marketing & categorymanagement experience (preference in the food industry)
A proven ability to identify marketopportunities and develop product lines to maximize the opportunity.
A relevant background in developing promotionalsupport plans for in-market brands.
The ability to analyze market data to leadorganization in new retail product categories and segments.
The ability to lead projects to completion incollaboration with cross functional teams
Experience working in a fast-paced,entrepreneurial environment.
The traits of a proactive / self-starter,logical & who works well within a cross-functional team
