Job descriptionLead the efforts in securing government funding and incentives for renewable energy projects, including grants and subsidies. Work closely with finance teams to secure the necessary funding and support for project development. Oversee land acquisition negotiations and secure municipal incentives for projects. Engage in the procurement of energy contracts and work on negotiating Power Purchase Agreements with utilities or clients. Develop and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including federal, provincial, and municipal governments, indigenous communities, and other local partners. Support the set-up of financial accounting, reporting, and controlling functions until a fully-fledged financial team is established. Help solve operational and project challenges as the development progresses. Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada. 10+ years in business advisory roles, preferably within the Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, or Energy sectors. A degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or relevant certifications is a plus. Proven experience in structuring and negotiating funding and agreements (federal, provincial, and municipal). Strong understanding of land acquisition processes and municipal incentives. Ability to manage relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders including governmental bodies and indigenous communities. Experience in the renewable energy or infrastructure industry is highly preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
