The Enterprise Architect is responsible for guiding a team of solution architects, application architects, and business analysts in building, maintaining, and evolving both existing and new business applications. This role focuses on balancing the tactical aspects of application development with strategic planning, ensuring that the solutions align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value. The Enterprise Architect will spend 60% of their time working hands-on with teams to implement and optimize systems and 40% on strategic initiatives, such as developing business cases, roadmaps, and return on investment (ROI / TCO) analysis for leadership approval.
Requirements
Tactical (60%)
- Lead Development & Implementation : Provide hands-on guidance to application and solution architects in the design, build, and deployment of applications, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical standards.
- Support Application Maintenance : Oversee the ongoing support and optimization of existing applications, ensuring that they continue to meet business requirements and operate efficiently.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with business analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure successful delivery.
- Technical Problem-Solving : Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in collaboration with the development team.
- Best Practices & Standards : Enforce development best practices, code standards, and architectural guidelines to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
- Quality Assurance : Oversee testing protocols and ensure that applications meet quality benchmarks before deployment.
- Documentation & Training : Ensure that comprehensive documentation is maintained for all applications and systems, and that the team receives appropriate training.
