Overview
This position works in the IT Systems and Knowledge Management. This is detailed-oriented and technical work as SharePoint Administrator to support the organization’s Enterprise Content Management system (SharePoint). An incumbent sustains, deploys, develops or configures business applications, with a focus on SharePoint and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role will play a key part in supporting ECM and strategic information management initiatives including support of records management functions, ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals. Support ECM-related projects and contribute to the broader M365 ecosystem, including integration with Teams, Power Platform, OneDrive and other Microsoft applications. The Business Analyst interacts with Project Managers and cross-functional project teams, establishes working relationships with various users, participates in the development of business requirements, business processes and procedures, design solutions and unit tests and conducts module walkthroughs; coordinates user reviews of configured applications; performs research, information assembly, organization and facilitation of business workshops and related documentation. Monitors system performance, conduct regular audits and implement security best practices. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications include completion of a university degree at the Bachelor’s level in computer science or a related discipline and sound related experience in systems analysis, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Microsoft certifications (such as MS-700, MS-900 or SharePoint specific) are strong assets. 3+ years of experience as a SharePoint Admin with proven experience administering SharePoint including site creation, configuration, intranet development, and management. Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services and integration points. Experience with PowerShell scripting and SharePoint Framework (SPFx) is an asset. Understanding of SharePoint architecture, permissions, and security models. Familiarity with ECM principles, SharePoint content types, and metadata-driven content organization. Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID. Prior knowledge and experience with business analysis within a municipal environment, process modelling, cost-benefit analysis, change management and business process re‑engineering are also preferred. Ability to utilize Agile and Scrum methodologies, establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts, and to present proposals in a non-technical language; to develop detailed work plans to carry out technological changes; strong analytical, problem solving and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
