Job description

At CIBC, we are in business to help our clients, employees and shareholders achieve what is important to them. Our ability to create value for all CIBC stakeholders is driven by a business culture based on common values : Trust, Teamwork and Accountability. Working with CIBC makes you a part of a work environment committed to our clients, employees and communities - a place where you can excel.

The following job posting and assessment questions were crafted by Kiinago Biinoogi Muskiiki (‘ Our Children’s Medicine’  in English) in consultation with Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers and other members of the community. Applications housed on this platform provide a unique opportunity for First Nations, Métis and Inuit job seekers to have the option of sharing their whole selves with potential employers, including their lived experience and transferable skills. Are you a First Nations, Metis, or Inuit professional who has a strong understanding in financial statements and accounting principles?

We're looking for you to join our team as an Associate, Commercial Banking, in select locations across Turtle Island (Canada).

Join CIBC’s Commercial Banking team and support account teams in client acquisition, relationship management, and credit processes while providing transactional support for tailored financing solutions. This role is a pathway to becoming a Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking, where you’ll serve as a strategic partner to some of Canada’s leading companies. Deliver flexible business solutions, expert advice, and dedicated support to help clients achieve their goals.

How You’ll Succeed :

  • Business Development Support : Collaborate with Relationship Managers to coordinate sales activities, execute business development initiatives, and identify growth opportunities through tailored financing solutions.
  • Research & Evaluation : Conduct thorough industry, client, and prospect research to evaluate business opportunities. Prepare analyses and support credit submissions, including structuring and documentation.
  • Client Experience : Assess client needs, propose solutions, and deliver exceptional service. Apply industry knowledge to develop proposals for financial and strategic solutions that align with client goals.

CIBC offers a hybrid work environment tailored to your success. Work arrangement details will be discussed during the interview process.

At CIBC, your goals are a priority. We start with your strengths and ambitions as an employee and strive to create opportunities to tap into your potential. We aspire to give you a career, rather than just a paycheck.
