Job descriptionValid 433A Millwright Licence Dual Tickets while not required are valued and holders will receive an additional premium. Diploma from an accredited educational institution in a related mechanical field Minimum of 5 years experience working in Industrial Maintenance preferably within a manufacturing environment Thorough knowledge of all applicable safety legislation Proficient at troubleshooting repairing maintaining and servicing all plant equipment in a timely manner Strong problem solving planning and organizational skills Strong mathematical aptitude Ability to work in a team environment Excellent communication skills. Must be fluent in English (read write and speak). Experience with a variety of machinery vehicles material handling equipment hand and power tools preferred. Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. Must have a valid drivers license with a safe driving record. Reading text Document use Numeracy Writing Oral communication attention to detail. Good use of the English language. Deadline oriented. Work well with others. Good hand eye coordination. Repetitive motions required. Rotating through-out the facility as required. Reliable and dependable on start and finish times as it impacts the operations. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities : Fast-paced environment Repetitive tasks physically demanding and attention to detail. Work Site Environment : Can get dusty recycling odour. Transportation / Travel Information : Own transportation Shifts (2) : Monday - Friday; 6 : 00 AM 2 : 30 PM & 2 : 00 PM 10 : 30 PM Overtime; two weeks days then switch to two weeks afternoons. The Maintenance Technician inspects maintains repairs and installs mechanical electromechanical pneumatic and / or hydraulic equipment at plant and / or pump stations.
Main Responsibilities :
- Repair maintain install replace troubleshoot and diagnose various machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps conveyors belts fans utilizing hand tools and testing instruments
- Inspect completed repairs and recommend appropriate solution
- Perform all work with strict adherence to all applicable safety legislation and procedures
- Estimates time and material costs on electrical and mechanical projects
- Requisition supplies and materials as required and approved by management.
- Work from engineering drawings rough sketches manuals or verbal instruction and install equipment to diagram specifications
- Provide performance feedback to workers to motivate or improve adherence to operating procedures or quality standards
- Complete work orders as required and ensures appropriate follow-up communication
- Disassemble machines and repair / replace / adjust parts accordingly
- Clean and lubricate equipment parts and machinery
- Maintain equipment in proper operating condition
- May be required to perform machine operator duties on occasion
- Assist co-workers with any questions or issues regarding task completion
