Job descriptionDevelop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers, regulators, and key industry partners to ensure Cando’s services are well positioned to capitalize on current and future opportunities Lead new initiatives by establishing goals, securing equipment, developing standard operating procedures, maintenance programs, equipment life cycle planning and setting project schedules. Monitor internal customer satisfaction while identifying service needs and efficiencies that would benefit or enhance operation Support strategic planning and cross-departmental growth initiatives. Promote and lead initiatives to ensure teams understand and comply with safety, equipment, and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain effective safety systems and programs which maintain regulatory compliance across Cando’s operations Conduct periodic audits and reviews to ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols and maintain high service standards Investigate equipment or facility failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with relevant departments Work with internal departments to identify and implement site focused operational solutions based on local needs Contribute in the development of strategies to maintain operational excellence including asset utilization, people management, safety and regulatory compliance Establish annual budgets and monitor equipment repair or maintenance costs across the Cando system. Manage equipment insurance, registration, and compliance with regulatory requirements across all applicable jurisdictions. Manage capital and maintenance budgets, identifying future needs, equipment issues, and maintenance requirements Manage deployment of equipment assets including purchasing, refurbishment or upgrades Maintain knowledge of industry news, trends and regulations that may have an impact on Cando’s services, and then develop or implement strategies to address these needs. Strong relationship management skills and the ability to build and grow both employee and customer loyalty Team player that is results-oriented with a personal style that fosters an atmosphere of cooperation and team work Ability to develop and communicate clear and concise approaches to enhance and grow operations Pro-active, strategic thinker capable of working across the organization and the industry to position Cando to maximize value Ability to execute and participate in operations with a reputation for being fair and reasonable Ability to manage multiple customer relationships with a commitment to business ethics and safety practices Proven track record of collaboration and influencing skills with an ability to build credibility Possesses a strong analytical mind with an understanding of business profitability and the ability to focus on long-term sustainability Functional computer capabilities including Windows based computer environment, the internet, and MS Office applications Understanding of standard business processes in accounting, marketing, and human resource management Minimum ten (10) years experience in a management position with full responsibilities for multiple site / service offerings Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Commerce / Business or equivalent industry experience Experience in building safety culture, service culture, and strong teams with an understanding of Safety Management Systems Experience in rail and transload services is an asset Proven track record of entrepreneurial leadership

The Manager of Fleet and Equipment is responsible for ensuring that Cando’s equipment and terminal assets are optimally positioned to deliver exceptional service to both new and existing customers. With a strong focus on safety, reliability, and cost control, this role involves close collaboration with internal departments and external vendors to ensure all equipment meets regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
