ADMINISTRATION OFFICER (Material Resources Department) - CUSTODIAL SERVICES

We invite you to apply for this Special Project position. The successful candidate will be part of the team in the Material Resources Department.

NATURE OF THE WORK

The position of administration officer encompasses, in particular, participation in the preparation, update and application of administrative policies, procedures and processes of one or several administrative units of the school board; it also encompasses the supervision and coordination of the work of support staff associated with his or her sector of activity and the study and analysis of various files in order to make and follow up recommendations.

NOTE: The position of administration officer – custodial services is a 1-year pilot project which encompasses the planning, organization and evaluation of custodial operations across the organization. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring efficient, safe and cost-effective custodial operations in support of educational activities. The position includes overseeing financial, material and human resources, developing administrative procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and board policies, and providing strategic advice to management regarding custodial operations.

Characteristic Functions (related to this specific posting)
  • The administration officer – custodial services acts as team leader and plans, directs and evaluate custodial operations and service standards. He or she trains and coaches custodial staff.
  • He or she develops staffing plans, schedules and workforce allocation. He or she participates in recruitment and performance management.
  • He or she develops and implements policies, procedures and quality assurance programs. He or she ensures compliance with occupational health and safety, environmental and sanitation regulations.
  • He or she oversees contracts, equipment, inventories and procurement of custodial supplies. He or she analyzes operational data and recommends service improvements.
  • He or she coordinates responses to emergencies and after-hours custodial operations. He or she advises management on strategic custodial initiatives and resource requirements.
  • He or she collaborates with school administrators and other departments to ensure efficient facility operations.
  • He or she performs any other related duty.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

To hold a secondary V attestation or hold a diploma or attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

Higher education will be considered an asset

Have six (6) years of pertinent experience.

Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, building maintenance principles and custodial industry standards.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Fluency in both official languages
