Position Overview
Torus Talent's client is looking to add a Solidworks Administrator to their team on a permanent or contract basis. This person will have the opportunity to work for a small team with a lot of opportunity for career development.
They are seeking a skilled Solidworks Administrator to manage and optimize our Solidworks systems, ensuring seamless operations for our engineering and design teams.
Further Responsibilities Include :
- Install, configure, and maintain CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.) and manage licensing to ensure system stability and availability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Solidworks-related technical support, troubleshooting software issues, and providing training to users on Solidworks standards and best practices.
- Establish and enforce Solidworks standards, including layer management, template usage, file naming conventions, and version control to maintain data integrity and consistency.
- Ensure accuracy and security of all Solidworks files and related documents, implementing data management practices for organized storage and retrieval.
- Oversee software updates, providing user support, developing Solidworks standards, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance speed, reliability, and functionality in line with project requirements.
- Partner with IT for software upgrades and with design teams to assess needs and develop solutions that align with project goals.
- Monitor licensing usage, manage renewal processes, and optimize software purchases to meet budget constraints.
Ideal Candidate Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; certification in Solidworks software administration is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in Solidworks administration, including support and maintenance of major CAD platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).
- Proficiency in Solidworks software and file management systems, with a strong understanding of network environments, software configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to Solidworks standards and data integrity.
