POSITION SUMMARY : The Regional Loss Prevention Manager is primarily responsible for-profit protection, cash shortage reduction to include audit compliance, enforcement of merchandise protection standards, and enforcement of all company policies and procedures.

The Loss Prevention Manager must be able to build partnerships and be responsive to the LP concerns of the Loss Prevention Manager and / or Director, Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, and team members.

Key responsibilities include ensuring the physical security of the store, auditing new and established systems, and driving a "Shrink Reduction and Elimination" and "Safe and Secure" culture within the Company.

The role is expected to be a role model of the company by driving results while maintaining company core values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :

Operational Excellence :

  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with store and law enforcement personnel.
  • Work with discretion and professionalism and always maintain confidentiality.
  • Conduct monthly LP audits throughout corporate and stores.
  • Perform investigations via various means including, reviewing surveillance at. Facilities to prevent and deter theft / fraudulent activity.
  • Represent Cardenas Markets, LLC. in a professional manner throughout all court-related proceedings.
  • Draft reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries.
  • Create team member awareness for shrink issues related to internal and external theft, operational deficiencies, and physical security.
  • Drive a 'Shrink Elimination' culture within the store environment.
  • Must consistently visit stores and conduct thorough inspections of all areas of the store, inside and outside with the "Shrink Elimination" culture in mind.
  • Effectively support the LP Team Plan.
  • Effectively utilize CCTV and POS exception-based reporting systems.
  • Conduct surveillance when required.
  • Adhere to major & minor work rule policies as detailed in the "Code of Conduct."
  • Report any theft incident / investigation to the Manager or Director of LP.
  • Prepare paperwork to accurately document audit results and complete all paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Review cashier transactions (cancels, refunds, suspensions, and

  • Answer alarm calls and take the appropriate action.
  • Have control of key and alarm inventory and provide alarm codes as needed.
  • Attend physical inventories as assigned and complete inventory process.

  • Able to build and maintain positive team relationships, relate well to diverse people, and remain approachable.
  • Train store teams on the Asset Protection Audit, conducts audits and and follows up on issues.

  • Maintain a positive work environment and ensure fair and consistent treatment of all team members.

Financial Results :

  • Support programs to control shrink and contain costs at an acceptable level.
  • Analyze data and determine areas of opportunity as well as plans for remediating gaps.
  • Work with store leadership to promote a secure business culture as defined in the Asset Protection Audit.

Skills / Qualifications :

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice is preferred, although demonstrated success in other retail operations or security positions is acceptable.
  • 3-5 years of intense case-load investigative experience in a corporate setting as a retail-related Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) desired.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand both English and Spanish sufficiently to understand conversations, presentations, company manuals, forms, and documents.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, discipline, communication, and teamwork.
  • Proficient computer skills in the areas of e-mail, Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel, required.
  • Competent in the use of retail CCTV systems.
  • Ability to travel 70-80% of the time, including extensive driving.
  • Availability six days or nights per week, weekends, and / or holidays as required.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong decision-making ability and effective time management.
  • Strong understanding of law enforcement and private security.
  • Ability to work independently and influence work groups and individuals that are not direct reports.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate large scale projects, programs, and investigations.
  • Awareness of industry and governmental investigative agencies and ability to work within agency protocol.
  • Ability to objectively assess facts to get to appropriate decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills (includes active listening). Able to prepare effective written reports, correspondences, and presentations to management as required.

Experienced in facilitating meetings by utilizing effective presentation skills.

  • Effective planning, prioritization, and time management skills with effective ability to follow-up on delegated assignments.
