enCompass is seeking anexperienced innovative and strategic Automation Engineer for ourPort Coquitlam BC location. enCompass Solutions Group servicescustomers in a variety of markets including Ports and TerminalsIndustrial (Metals Paper Chemical Mining) General Industry(Automotive Manufacturing) Utility (Power Plants Water andWastewater) Marine Oil and Gas Mining and others.
Some of ourcustomers operate in remote locations so periodic travel may berequired.
This individual will be a keymember of the Engineering and Controls Team and will be responsiblefor performing a variety of tasks ranging from design engineeringcontrol system programming project management and fieldengineering.
Designs will cover a variety of electrical control anddrive systems across a wide range ofindustries.
Your contribution to theTeam will include utilizing a variety of technical skills to designand implement various solutions.
These solutions are integrated ina variety of ways and our involvement ranges from the designimplementation installation and maintenance.
Some of tasksperformed in project delivery are asfollows :
- Floor to ceiling electricaldesign of industrial facilities
- PLC programmingon various manufacturer hardware such as Allen Bradley Siemens ABBGE or Modicon
- HMI Development on platforms suchas : Factory Talk View Wonderware orIgnition
- Networking
- Interfacingwith databases and commercial ITsystems
- Commissioning andstartup
- Longterm support andservice
As part of the team you willalso :
- Plan organize lead participatein and execute multiple small and large projects involving internaland external labor and procurement ofmaterial
- Demonstrate thorough understanding ofcustomer and supplier contractual commitments ensuring projects aredelivered in a safe manner and that our customer and businesscommitments are met or exceeded
- Ensure thatwork is completed in a timely manner and onbudget.
- Support the Commercial team inidentifying and quoting newopportunities
- Assist in the development of jobcost estimates and attend critical customer meetings asneeded
- Actively participate in EHS and developa thorough understanding of ESGs EHS Policies andProcedures
- Conduct work activities in acompliant manner adhering to the highest level of personalsafety
- Develop and expand technical knowledgeand expertise through continued employer sponsored training anddevelopment
- Understand critical industrystandards
- Utilize internal systems to completeall administrative duties in a timely manner such as but notlimited to :
- Scheduling timesheets expenseprocessing fleet vehicle reporting purchase order and / orrequisition creation and processingetc.
What youwill need to be successful in thisrole :
- Bachelors Degree in anElectrical Engineering discipline from an accredited university orcollege or a Technologist Diploma in a relevantspeciality such as industrial controls power or robotics or relevant industryexperience
- PLC programmingexperience
- Electrical engineering and designskills
- Experience working with ABB and Rockwelldrives
- Computer literacy with the adaptabilityto learn new software packages
- Experience withAutoCAD or other drafting software
- The abilityto work independently or collaboratively as ateam
- Possess a valid driverslicense
