Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager, this position is responsible for greeting and seating guests with the strictest regard to rules, regulations and outlet operational guidelines while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. This position may be performed in a restaurant, buffet operation, on a casino floor, in a bar, at a banquet, in a theatre or other are as. Ensures adherence to the Company policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Greet guests by name wherever possible
  • Seat guests in area of choice and distributes menus; advises guests of daily or weekly specials
  • Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared (if applicable)
  • Assists with cleaning tables or counters; removes dishes and re-stocks when required
  • Performs opening or closing duties as required
  • Maintains accurate records, wait lists and reservations (if applicable)
  • Ensu res table availability through communication with bussing and serving staff; maximizes seating arrangements
  • Performs cashier duties if applicable; counts cash float at end of shift if applicable
  • Liaises and communicates effectivel y with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders : guests, ownership and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other stat utory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education an asset
  • Minimum 1 year food and beve rage experience
  • POS experience
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented commu nication
  • Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular casino, restaurant or bar environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, some exposure to noise, odors; some exposure to verbal abuse, non-traditional work hours
