JOB DESCRIPTION : 310S Automotive Service Technician

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB :

Perform repairs and maintenance work in accordance with the Company and industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles, and work closely with other team members to meet Company goals.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Automotive Service Technicians possess the full range of knowledge and abilities required to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose problems, and repair vehicle systems including engines, vehicle management, hybrids, steering, braking, tires, wheels, drivetrains, suspension, electrical, electronics, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), restraints, trim and accessories of automotive vehicles such as cars, SUVs, minivans, pickup trucks, as well as light-duty commercial vehicles and utility trailers.

Specifically, an Automotive Service Technician inspects, repairs, and maintains :

  • electrical and electronic systems
  • engines including fuel, exhaust, intake, and emission controls
  • transmissions, clutches, drive shafts and axles
  • body and trim, frames, and hitching / coupling systems
  • steering, suspension, and computer control systems
  • tires, wheels, hubs, and bearings
  • braking systems including hydraulic and electric
  • heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems
  • preventative maintenance services including inspections and oil changes
  • maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • complete accurate records of all repairs made on vehicles

DESIRED WORK EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • reading and writing skills
  • effective communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions from management
  • technical computer and electronic skills
  • ability to perform heavy lifting and work in tight spaces
  • willingness to learn, and participate in in-house training programs
  • ability to work as a team
  • must possess a valid Ontario Driver's License
  • must possess a valid Skilled Trades Ontario certificate

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $28.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours : 42.5 per week
