Job Summary

The Technical Architect for Communications Domain positionis within the IT Strategy & Technology Planning Division whichoversees data networking telecommunication and related aspects.

This division is responsible for establishing IT strategicdirections technology roadmaps investment strategies service modelsand solutions architectures across all Digital & IT disciplinesincluding Computing Communication Application and InformationProtection.

The primary role of the TechnicalArchitect is to develop strategic Digital & IT roadmaps anddefine the technology architecture necessary to deliver and enablecore business capabilities.

This includes optimizing short andlongterm architecture plans identifying new IT capabilities thatleverage existing technologies and solutions and creating plans andprograms to introduce new IT services that align with businessdemands and company digital transformation initiatives.

The Technical Architect for Communications domain shouldpossess a broad understanding of various Digital and ITtechnologies with a deeper understanding of communicationsrelatedtechnologies.

This includes LAN / WAN Corporate Network (e.g. IP / MPLSSDN SDWAN) Terrestrial Fiber Optical Network Communications (e.

g.TDM SDH DWDM OTN) Terrestrial and NonTerrestrial Wireless Network(e.g. Microwave VSAT HTSLEO HAPs) Private Mobile Radio Networks(e.

g. TETRA LPWANs; LTEM NBIoT LoRaWAN 4G / 5G) Private and leasedterrestrial public circuits & networks (e.g. IPVPN MPLS SDWAN)and Unified Communications.

KeyResponsibilities :

Work with EA peers (e.g. enterprise business informationsolutions and security architects) to analyze enterprise businesscontext and change requirements in other enterprise architectureviewpoints to derive the futurestate Communications architecture.

This includes defining requirements principles and models guidingtechnology decisions.

• Lead analysis of thecurrent technology environment to detect deficiencies and recommendsolutions for improvement. Analyze technology industry and markettrends for potential impacts on enterprise technologyarchitecture.
• Coach mentor and collaboratewith technical subject matter experts and EA peers to developCommunications architecture enabling new business capabilities andoperating models.
• Drive digital innovationusing innovative technologies and approaches to renovate extend andtransform the existing core technology base and ITestate.
• Define highlevel migration plansaddressing gaps between future and current states typically in syncwith IT budgeting or other capital planning processes.
• Understand technology trends and practical application ofexisting new and emerging technologies for new business andoperating models.
• Guide technology investmentdecisions based on analysis and evaluation ensuring nonfunctionalrequirements are met.
• Design governanceassurance and standards activities for enterprise technologyarchitecture compliance.
• Oversee researchevaluation and selection of technology and product standards aswell as design standard configurations.
• Identify organizational and financial impacts of theenterprise Communications architecture.
• Advocate for and augment business and IT strategiesleading communication or marketing activities for enterprisesuccess.
• Lead technology change to deliverbusiness outcomes while leveraging subject matterexperts.
• Oversee technology implementation andmodification activities particularly for new or sharedinfrastructure solutions.
• Consult onapplication or infrastructure development projects to harmonizesystems with the enterprise Communications architecture.
• Create and deliver working productionready IT servicessupporting agile teams.
• Work closely withproduct managers product owners and EA peers to enableinfrastructure agility scalability and resilience.
• Collaborate with business constituents EA team membersproject teams and IT staff to fulfill responsibilities.
• Document necessary enterprise Communications architecturedesign and analysis work including project postmortem documentationand metric collection.

Requirements :

• Willingness to permanentlyrelocate to Dhahran Saudi Arabia.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer EngineeringComputer Information Systems Communication Engineering or SoftwareEngineering from a recognized and approved program.

An advanceddegree is preferred.

• Masters or BachelorsDegree in disciplines such as Computer Science Computer EngineeringManagement Information Systems (MIS) Computer Information Systems(CIS) Engineering Physical Sciences Mathematics Finance or BusinessAdministration.
• Minimum of 10 years ofexperience in Digital & IT systems / platforms analysisprogramming computing hardware cloud computing architecture mobilesoftware implementation data networking telecommunication andinformation protection.
• At least 6 years ofexperience in developing Digital & IT reference architecturetechnology strategies and roadmaps for the communicationsdomain.
• Six or more years of businessexperience in strategic and operations planning and / or businessanalysis or experience as an enterprise architecture consultant forthe communications domain.
• Knowledge ofindustrystandard Enterprise Architecture (EA) Frameworks andtools.
• Excellent spoken and written English isessential. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
• Ability to compose and edit concise wellorganized reportsand presentations for various levels of management.
• Highly articulate in English (and preferably in Arabic)and able to discuss Digital & IT Architecture and technologydirections appropriately.
• Strongprofessionalism maturity multidiscipline technical knowledge andinterpersonal skills to manage highly professional and seniorpersonnel.
• Business knowledge and acumen toselect appropriate Digital & IT solutions anddirections.
• Excellent negotiation andinfluencing skills and ability to moderate discussions.
• Mastery of Communications architectures and relatedaspects.
• Understanding of applicationscomputing and security architectures.
• Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and InformationTechnology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture tools relatedgraphical models and frameworks.
