WHO YOU ARE:
We’re seeking a Fashion Buyer in Global Market Sourcing — a curious, connected, and trend-driven professional who knows how to spot what’s next before it hits the market. In this role, you’ll travel to uncover the newest trends that define our seasonal direction. You’ll build relationships with key vendors and suppliers, bring back the right product mix that resonates with our customer, and turn global inspiration into commercial success.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Go Find the Newness
- Travel the world to spot the next big thing before it hits our competitors’ floors.
- Hit trade shows, markets, showrooms, and retail hotspots to uncover the silhouettes, fabrics, colors, prints, and ideas worth chasing.
- Bring back fresh inspiration and finished goods that elevate our seasonal stories and surprise our customer.
Be Our Eyes on the Ground
- Study global retail environments: how product is merchandised, styled, priced, and worn.
- Pay attention to what’s moving, what feels new, and what’s about to pop.
- Document everything with photos, samples, notes, and sharp observations.
Connect With the Right People
- Build real relationships with wholesalers, showrooms, and factories offering finished goods.
- Keep a directory of who has what, where the gems are hidden, and how fast they can move.
- Follow up on samples, availability, and product updates with consistency and clarity.
Inspire the Design Team
- Present your finds with energy and context — why it works, who’s buying it, and how we should interpret it.
- Help us see around the corner with insights on silhouette shifts, trim details, washes, fabrications, and styling elements.
- Provide physical samples, reference photos, and curated insights that support our seasonal direction.
Spot the Commercial Wins
- Identify items with real sales potential — the kinds of pieces that drive units, UPT, and outfit completion.
- Understand our girl, our brand, and our floor — and bring back product that hits the sweet spot.
- Balance statement pieces with everyday winners that keep velocity high.
Organize the Chaos
- Track, tag, and samples so we can easily review, reference, and action them.
- Maintain tight notes on where each sample came from, why it matters, and what trend it supports.
- Keep digital folders clean, labeled, and ready for handoff.
Pass the Baton
- Once something is approved, hand off full sample info, vendor contacts, and reference notes to the production team.
- Be available to answer clarifying questions — but don’t own costing, MOQ, development, or logistics.
Stay Curious
- Watch street style, social shifts, micro-trends, and cultural signals.
- Keep tabs on what’s buzzing in other markets, categories, and brands.
- Share seasonal recaps and fast-hit reports to keep the whole team dialed in.
Travel Like a Pro
- Build itineraries, schedule appointments, and make every hour count.
- Show up organized, curious, and relentless about finding the pieces our customer doesn’t know she wants yet.
Bonus Points
- Existing relationships with wholesalers or factories supplying finished goods.
- Experience hunting for capsule runs, test buys, and market exclusives.
- A natural ability to edit — knowing what to leave behind is just as important as what you bring back.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in fashion buying, product development, or global market sourcing.
- College-level degree in Fashion or related experience.
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office software.
- Bilingualism required (French/English).
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, product lifecycles, and seasonal merchandising.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with international vendors, showrooms, and factories.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage samples, data, and sourcing details across multiple markets.
- Ability to travel internationally as required and work independently in fast-paced environments.
- A keen eye for detail, a sense of style, and a passion for discovering what’s next in fashion.
- Ability to work in-office 5 days per week.
