We are looking for a dynamic arts educator who can inspire and empower students to colour outside the lines and create masterpieces of their own.

If you can dream in both paintbrushes and pixels, read on. UTS is looking for a creative and dynamic educator with Visual Arts qualifications who thrives on the challenge of teaching bright, highly motivated students.

This is a 100% (full time) teaching position combining a Long Term Occasional (LTO) Visual Arts timetable equal to 80% FTE and 20% Associate Teacher duties, for the 2024-2025 academic year , starting August 28, 2024.

Teaching experience with fresh canvases and bright minds, demonstrated passion for intermediate education, reflecting that almost half the position involves teaching at the Foundation (grade 7-8 level) Your expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, or another similar specialization, will foster a vibrant school studio utilizing traditional and contemporary media A commitment to create inclusive learning and exhibition spaces where students experience a wide range of perspectives, voices and styles to fully explore visual art through an AEDI lens while finding their own unique creative voice You need to be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and will ideally have two (2) years of teaching experience with Intermediate / Senior qualification as well as Honours Specialist Qualifications.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, or another studio specialization and an interest in Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, as well as our rich co-curricular program will make you the ideal candidate.

Some of our expectations will include : A demonstrated passion for the continuous improvement and enhancement of teaching, learning and growth that provides inspiration to students and co-workers.

A culturally responsive approach to teaching, incorporating diverse perspectives, histories, and experiences into their curriculum to ensure that all students feel seen, heard, and valued.

The ability to provide an academically rigorous learning experience in a way that is accessible to students, provides ample feedback and reflection opportunities, and shapes assessment that brings clarity to students as they develop learning habits and processes.

A detailed and comprehensive documentation process for course planning and assessment and evaluation. Being an effective link between the school and parents on both academic and non-academic matters.

Active participation in the life of the school including, but not limited to graduation, school dances and other extracurricular community events as required.
