We’re currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Operations Finance team. Reporting to the Manager, Inventory and Cost Accounting, you will work collaboratively to support the company’s business strategies as it relates to inventory cost accounting, controls, and reporting.

As the Senior Accountant, you will...
- Maintain and update the inventory valuation model, including entries and analysis related to product costing, Work In Progress, inventory, purchase, sales, intercompany transactions, etc.
- Prepare bio-assets and inventory-related inputs required for financial statements and reporting packages under IFRS / US GAAP.
- Prepare biological assets and inventory notes for the financial statements in a multi-currency environment.
- Maintain and update the inventory NRV calculations and provide detailed variance analysis.
- Provide oversight on the data gathering process of cannabis inventory (continuities) and ensure inventory movements are accurately translated into the general ledger.
- Prepare, review, and finalize journal entries as necessary.
- Analytics : perform variances analysis period over period, provide insights on the changes and present to management
- Coach junior team members, review their work, and provide constructive feedback as necessary.
- Assist with quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in current processes and help implement recommendations.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as needed.
As an experienced professional, you will have...
- A bachelor’s degree in Business or finance or accounting, or a related field.
- A CPA designation (CA, CGA, or CMA) is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting and / or finance reporting areas with a strong knowledge of large data modeling and presentation (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Proven experience in inventory control, materials management, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve inventory-related issues, transform complex sets of data into practical solutions that drive business value.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage multiple deadlines.
- Technical knowledge of biological asset accounting would be a plus.
- This person should be comfortable working with cost accounting measures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with all MS Office products and Power BI.
- Public company accounting experience is preferred.
