Crestline Coach Ltd. Is currently looking to add an Automotive HVAC Production Engineer to our team.
Key responsibilities of this role include :
- Lead HVAC product design by developing functional requirements, creating designs and validating performance
- Investigate and establish best practices for HVAC design across product portfolio, with the intent to improve overall performance, reliability and customer satisfaction
- Interface with Mechanical and Electrical Project Engineers to characterize performance target of HVAC system including airflow, cooling capacity, heating capacity and air filtration
- Develop ROM costing budget to ensure initial cost targets are in line with market requirements
- Provide guidance to our supply chain team and suppliers throughout the sourcing process and prototype phase
- Conduct Design Reviews as well as support for BOM costing reviews
- Write and execute functional and performance testing to validate performance envelope
- Support manufacturing of proof of concept, bench and prototype systems through troubleshooting, First Article Inspections and review of Quality Escapes
- Assess risk through the development of a complete HVAC subsystem Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis
- Ensure designs meet Design for Manufacture requirements and Design for ease of maintenance / service requirements
Technical Skills / Competencies (technical knowledge, education and experience) :
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
- Five or more years' experience related to Automotive design, production or manufacturing is an asset
- 3D CAD drafting skills / understanding of accepted drafting principles is required
- Proficiency with CFD tool for HVAC airflow analysis is an asset
- Prior experience on HVAC validation Process and / or DVPV processes
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault in an engineering environment that relied on a PDM or PLM system is an asset
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and test standards (CMVSS, FMVSS, CAAS, etc) and how they affect ambulance design
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturing and value engineering
