Role Overview
The Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents in the day‑to‑day coordination of commercial, mixed‑use, and multi‑family construction projects to ensure accurate and up‑to‑date maintenance of documentation, timely billing and payments to subcontractors, scope, quality, contractual obligations, and legal requirements. The Project Coordinator will assist project managers with financial forecasting, contract management, budget maintenance and schedule tracking and updating.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in plan specification analysis to provide clear, traceable, and coordinated interpretations of design / drawings for construction.Research and recommend solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences, and errors / omissions.Act as liaison with subcontractors to expedite drawings, pricing, site instructions, change notices and related information.Review, interpret, and communicate contract documents and project requirements to the project team, understanding various forms of contract and associated risks.Review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors relating to bid submissions.Order and track site formwork inventory.Review and implement standard forms and related procedures for effective project management.Attend weekly project coordination meetings.Prepare and maintain project filing system for office and site.Assist project managers with project billings.Track, review, update, and execute shop drawings to subcontractors.Participate in continuous updating and accurate generation of as‑built documents.Monitor field work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, safety legislation and codes.Support company safety program.Review field change requests to resolve design issues.Review and delegate deficiency lists.Maintain accurate logs for RFI’s, SI’s, PCN’s (CCN or CCO), CN’s (CO), Work Orders, permits and bid scopes and drawings.Track responses to RFI’s and advise project managers and superintendents of status.Coordinate, gather, and issue client close‑out documents including warranties.Conduct quality control activities in accordance with instructions, inspection programs, using specified control measuring and testing equipment.Perform additional assignments and tasks as required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication skills (in‑person, online, email, verbal and written).Knowledge of construction methodology, techniques, equipment, drawings and specifications, building materials, standards applicable to discipline and project management processes.Excellent computer skills including Excel, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office suite.Knowledge and understanding of project scheduling, WBS, critical path analysis, and software to produce meaningful scheduling resources.Comprehension of blueprints, contract specifications, construction legislation, contract law and quantity takeoffs.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse team environment, treating all others with courtesy and respect.Ability to assume responsibility and interface and communicate effectively orally and in writing.Ability to represent company and project team professionally to clients, architects, engineers, and community.Ability to learn and expand knowledge base for greater performance and productivity.Punctual and reliable.Working Conditions
Work performed primarily out of Edmonton head office and on site.Steel toe boots required.Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.Travel to projects in different cities or provinces required.Extensive use of computer and prolonged sitting.Regular communication with project management staff, site personnel, clients, consultants, vendors / subcontractors.Business casual, professional attire (jeans permitted).Educational Requirements
Degree in Engineering or Construction Engineering Technology Diploma.PMP or CET certification considered an asset.5+ years of hands‑on project coordination experience in commercial, mixed‑use, multi‑family, highrise and parkades construction project coordination.#J-18808-Ljbffr
