About this role
The main purpose of this position is meeting patients’ individual needs, through the following activities and responsibilities, to be carried out in his / her country :
- Providefield-based medical / scientific expertise ensuring understanding of the disease areas and Biogen’s products as appropriate.
- Buildvalued constructive partnerships with key stakeholders in the medical community and the healthcare system.
- Contributeto company success through both internal and external medical education and medical / scientific information exchange and support.
- Utilizemedical / scientific expertise to gather medical insights and to support research / data generation initiatives.
What you'll do
- Facilitate medical and scientific information exchange with the medical community on the diseases in focus through compliant and legitimate interactions with HCPs (clinical presentations, 1 : 1 interaction, coordination of peer-to peer meetings, etc.).
- Disseminate high quality complex scientific information and provide legitimate and innovative medical education content aligned with the regional / affiliate medical education concept.
- Gather medical insights, provide key learnings to the regional Medical team on regular basis as appropriate.
- Support therapeutic experts in developing concepts and protocols for SRAs / IITs / registries that support business strategy and ensures its proper internal management.
- Provide expertise to HCPs and other stakeholders who wish to present data on Biogen disease areas and related products.
- Support the development and implementation of the internal training plan, monitor the plan and update knowledge of disease areas.
- Support national and international medical projects in the country, strategically engaging internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate leadership in working collaboratively and in total alignment with the disease cross functional team (i.e. Market Access, Area manager, Disease Brand teams, etc.
ensuring the successful implementation of the company’s overall strategy and objectives.
Stay up to date with therapy advances, current research, medical scientific knowledge and detailed knowledge on Biogen products and disease areas.
Required skills
- Bachelor’s degree in medical or scientific qualification. Advanced terminal degree is preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP in medical specialty), or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- At least 3 years of MSL / Medical Manager experience in the pharma industry
- Medical / scientific experience in Rare Diseases, clinical research or investigation in the required field
- Working knowledge of the Compliance environment, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Drug Safety, and Legal
- Experience working in a matrix environment with high level of autonomy
- Scientific acumen : Strong technical skills with demonstrated mastery in data comprehension and critical appraisal, synthesis, interpretation and delivery of data / information in order to conduct a productive medical / scientific exchange
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (scientific and non-scientific) throughout all levels in Spanish and English
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and in total alignment with the commercial group
- Strong ability to build partnerships with opinion leaders based on scientific acumen
- Is able to ascertain customer / client needs and demonstrate a strong orientation towards customer service
- High level of planning and organizational skills
- Lead implementation of medical plans on the field
- Design the organization of visits to customers according to business priorities
- Coordinate and monitor evidence generation activities at the local level
- Design of strategic territory plan
