Our client in York Region is actively looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team.

Title : Senior Accountant

Location : York Region, ON

Length of Assignment : Permanent

Salary : $, - $, / year

Responsibilities :

• Supporting the finance team in month end closing while working closely with the Assistant Controller.
• Performing bank and account reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger by inputting daily financial transactions.
• Preparing and reporting monthly GST / HST returns for Canada & US to the relevant tax authorities.
• Support Junior Accountant in their day-to-day activities.
• Maintain and oversee all accounting procedures and bring some process improvement ideas to improve our current processes.
• Assisting with audit preparations and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

What We Look For :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and CPA designation is preferred.
• Minimum years of experience in industrial Accounting is strongly desired.
• Experience in the Technology sector would be a plus.
• Process oriented : Experience establishing and optimizing reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Communication skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, oral, listening and presentational skills and ability to interact at all levels.
• Tech Savvy & Systems ERP systems experience and automation of manual processes is a plus.
• Teamwork : Teamwork is essential. The candidate must interact well with the Leadership team, third party advisors, creditors, banks and other cross-functional teams.
