PositionSummary :
The Steel Fixer will beresponsible for preparing and positioning reinforcing steel barsrods and mesh for concrete structures according to constructionplans and specifications.
This individual must have a keen eye fordetail a strong work ethic and the ability to work collaborativelywith other construction teammembers.
KeyResponsibilities :
Interpretconstruction plans and specifications to determine the size shapequantity and location of steel bars required forprojects
Cut bend and tie steel barsusing specialized tools and equipment
Place and secure steel bars in concrete forms or molds ensuringproper alignment and spacing
Installwire mesh steel cables and other reinforcement material asneeded
Inspect and repair damaged orimproperly placed steel bars
Operateconstruction equipment such as cranes and forklifts to move andposition heavy materials
Maintainaccurate records and documentation of workcompleted
Adhere to all safetyregulations and procedures to prevent workplace accidents andinjuries
Requirements
High School diploma orequivalent
Knowledge of construction plans andspecifications
Ability to read andinterpret technical drawings
Proficient in using hand and powertools
Strong mathematical skills andthe ability to measure accurately and cutmaterials
Excellent physicaldexterity and handeye coordination
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards andprocedures
Willingness to work in afastpaced and physically demandingenvironment
