Chief Software Architect

Location : Sudbury, Ontario : Relocation Assistance Provided

Hybrid Remote 3-5 days in office

Salary : $160,000 - $180,000 per year

Position Overview : As the Chief Architect at our client, you will play a pivotal role in the redevelopment of our product from the ground up, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and coding best practices.

Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer (CPO), you will lead the design and development efforts, ensuring a robust, scalable, and innovative architecture that aligns with our strategic objectives.

You will build and grow the team around you, implementing process and best practices along the way. This role has extensive career growth potential into a CTO position.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead backend development efforts with a concentration on architecture and coding best practices.
• Oversee frontend and mobile development, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems.
• Architect and build complex Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, focusing on scalability and performance.
• Design high-level architecture for backend systems, emphasizing modularity and flexibility.
• Manage infrastructure, including cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), to support the scalability and reliability of the application.
• Lead the hiring process for the development team, attracting top talent and fostering a collaborative culture.
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging machine learning in the product.
• Lead future ML initiatives as the business grows

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related
• Experience designing and building both mobile and web-based software solutions ground up
• Proficiency with object-oriented programming languages (C#, Java, etc.)
• Proficiency with Python
• Expertise in database design
• Strong knowledge of API design and implementation
• Proven expertise in native mobile application development.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of ML concepts, techniques
• Experience with software development best practices
• Prior experience leading development teams and hiring top talent.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for product innovation.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and drive results.

• Experience in frontend development using modern frameworks
• Strong foundation in machine learning algorithms, techniques, and frameworks
• Experience with model evaluation, validation, and deployment in real-world applications.
