Product Design Engineering Lead, Acoustics
The Product Design Engineering Lead, Acoustics applies their expertise to plan and deliver innovative technologies, and mass-market product designs for Consumer Audio and Professional Audio products.
The successful candidate will have proven experience planning and implementing most or all aspects of the electronics-based product lifecycle such as requirements engineering, system design, electronics hardware , firmware, software, product validation , compliance to regional product standards.
This role is currently a full time hybrid position.
To be considered for this role you will need to have the following:
Minimum 7 years of experience delivering electronic product designs from concept to mass production coupled with an Engineering Degree in Electrical,Mechatronics, Computer, Software, or a related discipline.
Practical knowledge of Electronics Design, Firmware Design and Product Compliance.
Experience designing products using AIAG advanced product quality planning (APQP) or other automotive quality systems is preferred.
Direct and specific experience with design of audio systems is highly preferred
In-Depth knowledge of electronics product design and associated software development.
Practical experience leading technical teams to deliver high quality acoustic engineering products.
Skilled at creating product architectures & associated design requirements from customer requirements or product concepts.
Ability to work various hours in order to deal with International teams and time zones is an absolute MUST!
Occasional travel required to visit test labs or visit customer sites also a MUST HAVE!
In turn your primary responsibilities will be:
Develop audio product architectures which reduce risk to product quality and delivery schedules.
Define and implement all activities required to deliver a highest quality product based on customer requirements including: Requirements Development and Validation, Electrical Design, Schematic capture and Simulation, PCB layout, Prototype bring-up, troubleshooting and testing ( electrical, thermal, audio, EMI, ESD, safety ), Handling Certification Process, Customer Sample Validation and Acceptance and Troubleshooting new designs and production failures to determine root-cause
Allocate engineering resources to meet product release schedules
Estimate tasks, effort, and define electronic components required to deliver a mass-production design from the product concept stage
Work with project managers to develop and maintain engineering development aspects of the project plan for the project lifecycle.
Provide regular status updates to management for project issue tracking and escalation.
Promotes effective teamwork and spirit of partnership among local and foreign teams
Other duties as may be required from time to time.
