Day Care Connection (DCC) is a non-profit licensed childcare agency that has been providing quality childcare and family resource programs in the community since 1976.
The connections children form with their families, caregivers, and community are the roots for belonging, well-being, learning, and growth.

The Board of Directors of Day Care Connection Toronto is seeking a not-for-profit leader to be their next Executive Director.
The Executive Director is chiefly responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and organizational objectives, providing operational leadership to multiple childcare sites serving children and their families.
Responsible for maintaining good working relationships with the City of Toronto, the Executive Director will effectively manage the reputation and operations of multiple sites under Daycare DCC and Downtown Montessori Schools (DTMS).
Leading with vision, the Executive Director will also lead an exciting expansion project for the organization.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and works in collaboration with the Director of Administration and the Policy / Program Director to :
- Ensure effective and efficient overall administration and operation of the organization’s programs, in compliance with all government regulations, DCC / DTMS mission and policies, and sector best practices
- Lead, initiate and coordinate the future expansion of DCC / DTMS through the development of a new Montessori Daycare location, in compliance with established strategies and directions
- Provide direction for the organization’s strategic planning, program development, implementation evaluation, administration and promotion
- Work with Finance to generate and monitor budgets, service planning and quality assurance
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
- Administer the maintenance of program and office properties and buildings and act as a liaison with landlords and other related parties, including negotiations of new leases and lease renewals
- Direct fundraising planning and implementation, by identifying resource requirements for fundraising, potential strategies, source and activities, and overseeing records and documentation
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the program
- Keep well-informed on relevant developmental opportunities for the organization
- Promote, market and represent DCC / DTMS within the community and funders
- Act as a spokesperson, representative and liaison for DCC / DTMS within the community and other relevant stake holders
- Participate on behalf of DCC / DTMS in coalitions, work groups that relate to the Early childhood education and family support resources
- Communicate and act as a liaison with funders, partners and other stakeholders at the local, provincial and national level as needed
- Ensure childcare and other related programs meet the requirements of funders, including program and financial reporting
- Examine reports to determine the operational activities of the organization and ensure optimum performance
Experience, Abilities and Skills
- Five or more years’ experience in a senior management role within the non-profit human services sector
- Demonstrated ability to work with a broad range of stake holders, i.e. funders at the local and provincial levels, community members and leaders, academics and opinion leaders
- Proven entrepreneurial, organizational, networking and program development skills to be applied in fundraising and promoting the organization
- Governance experience
- Proven leadership and consensus-building skills
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the community, parents, children and staff
- Sound judgement, problem solving and decision-making ability to apply due diligence in crisis and difficult situations.
