Job Description
Our client in the non-profit sector is seeking to hire an HR Assistant! As an HR Assistant you will be responsible for managing WSIB claims, onboarding, and filing.
Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of new employees into the company and maintaining accurate and organized HR records. Responsibilities :
- Handle all aspects of Workers' Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims process from initiation to resolution.
- Liaise with employees and WSIB representatives to gather necessary documentation and information for claims.
- Ensure timely submission of required forms and documents to WSIB.
- Track and monitor the progress of claims, providing updates to relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Prepare and distribute onboarding materials, including employee handbooks, policies, and benefit information.
- Schedule and conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new employees with company culture, policies, and procedures.
- Work closely with hiring managers and department heads to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires, addressing any questions or concerns they may have during the onboarding process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files, both electronically and in hard copy.
- Organize and file documents related to personnel actions, such as hiring, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with record retention policies and regulations.
- Assist with audits and inspections by providing requested documentation and information.
- Maintain efficient filing systems to facilitate easy retrieval of information as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Prior experience working in HR, with a focus on WSIB claims management and onboarding preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HRIS software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
