Job Description

Our client in the non-profit sector is seeking to hire an HR Assistant! As an HR Assistant you will be responsible for managing WSIB claims, onboarding, and filing.

Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of new employees into the company and maintaining accurate and organized HR records. Responsibilities :

  • Handle all aspects of Workers' Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims process from initiation to resolution.
  • Liaise with employees and WSIB representatives to gather necessary documentation and information for claims.
  • Ensure timely submission of required forms and documents to WSIB.
  • Track and monitor the progress of claims, providing updates to relevant stakeholders as needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Prepare and distribute onboarding materials, including employee handbooks, policies, and benefit information.
  • Schedule and conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new employees with company culture, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and department heads to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires, addressing any questions or concerns they may have during the onboarding process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files, both electronically and in hard copy.
  • Organize and file documents related to personnel actions, such as hiring, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with record retention policies and regulations.
  • Assist with audits and inspections by providing requested documentation and information.
  • Maintain efficient filing systems to facilitate easy retrieval of information as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Prior experience working in HR, with a focus on WSIB claims management and onboarding preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HRIS software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
