Legal Assistant - Mergers & Acquisitions

YOUR ROLE :

As a Legal Assistant in Business Law, you will provide support in a variety of mandates.

Your main responsibilities will include :

  • Prepare and assemble documentation required for transaction closings;
  • Prepare and review various large and complex legal documents;
  • Draft, edit and follow up on correspondence;
  • Follow-up with various internal and external stakeholders;
  • Conduct searches in the Quebec Enterprise Register, Corporations Canada, Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, SOQUIJ, Quebec Land Registry and other sources;
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and travel;
  • Manage agendas, receive, filter, reply to and forward e-mails, calls, etc.

SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • Legal secretarial training;
  • Relevant law firm or corporate experience (an asset);
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and cultivate good interpersonal relations;
  • Professionalism, discretion and sense of responsibility;
  • Discretion, resourcefulness and autonomy.
