Our client, an established public sector organisation is seeking a seasoned Data Architect to join their team on a contract basis.
As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the data architecture strategy.
This is a 1-year contract, hybrid 2 days a week in Vancouver
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop robust, scalable, and flexible data architectures that meet business requirements.
- Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Lead the implementation of data solutions on cloud platforms, with a focus on Azure.
- Utilize Azure Data Factory to orchestrate and automate data workflows.
- Design and manage both SQL and NoSQL databases to support various application needs.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data models and architecture frameworks.
- Ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise architecture frameworks and standards.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other IT professionals to ensure data solutions are implemented effectively.
- Perform data integration, data migration, and data warehousing activities.
- Establish data governance practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve data architecture practices.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory and its components.
- Expertise in both SQL (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Certification in Azure Data Engineering or Architecture.
