Position OverviewThis position is developmental opportunity. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining a zero-incident safety culture while coordinating multiple work fronts, coordinating processes, and guiding a team of cross functional employees within their area.

As part of the engineering team for the project, the Project Manager will lead team meetings, work collaboratively to achieve the strategic objectives of the project, and assist with any project requirements when needed.

Work EnvironmentThis position will be required to work on-site from an assigned project location within the United States of America.

Locations include but are not limited to : California, Montana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Arizona, North Dakota, Nevada, Colorado, and Texas.

Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to the local area of their assigned project. Remote work and fly-in-fly-out work arrangements are not an option for these positions.

Responsibilities : Responsible for guiding the project team by providing the communication, coordination and follow-up necessary to meet project goals and objectivesChampion a zero-incident safety cultureMaintains ongoing training and mentoring of project teamDirectly responsible to senior managementProvides ongoing project information and project reviews as required by managementCoordinates training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followedEnsures scope of work, schedule, and budget are clearly defined and understood by senior management and all project participants, including clientDetermines, controls, and maintains overall project and discipline schedules and budgetsTracks schedule and budget progress with project milestones and takes all action necessary to keep project on trackIdentifies and secures necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and / or scheduleMaintains ongoing communication with client, adjusting as necessary to comply with client's needs within contractual obligations, or adjusting project deliverables to meet the client and Barnard’s needsReviewing design standard variances, participating in and reviewing "value engineering" initiatives, and obtaining stakeholders buy-inSupporting quality control / quality assurance and safety certification processesDeveloping requests for third party Work PlansRepresenting Barnard on all assigned technical matters relating to your expertiseFacilitating and attending technical and / or progress meetings as requiredReviewing progress reports, and endorsing invoices for services as requiredPreparing and / or reviewing various reports and other correspondences related to project technical issuesRegular contact with contractors, consultants, and other technical personnel Qualifications : Must be willing and able to relocate to and reside in any assigned project area in the USAMust be a Canadian citizen for work visa purposesMust have Four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university for work visa purposesHeavy civil construction experience is requiredExperience working in the field on an active construction site is requiredAbility to handle multiple projects and make sound business decisions in a timely manner to adapt to changing situationsDemonstrated ability to motivate and coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectivesComprehensive knowledge of project management principles, methods and practices combined with sound judgementEffective organizational, research, analytical and problem-solving abilitiesGood oral and written communication skills, including technical report writing skillsEqual Opportunity Employer Veterans / Disabled, E-Verify Employer
