Manpower Alberta is looking for Mechanical Assembler and Machine operators :
Mechanical Assembler – Switchgear
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical and structural components of electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear and enclosures. This role focuses on accuracy, safety, and quality to ensure assemblies are ready for electrical installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble switchgear enclosures, frames, panels, and doors per drawings and work instructions
- Install mechanical components (brackets, hinges, latches, supports, covers)
- Perform drilling, tapping, fastening, and torqueing to specification
- Read and interpret drawings, BOMs, and assembly prints
- Verify parts, identify discrepancies, and follow quality procedures
- Safely use hand and power tools; follow PPE and safety requirements
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of mechanical or industrial assembly experienceStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailAbility to read drawings and tape measures (metric & imperial)Experience using hand and power toolsMachine Operator – Fabrication - Location - Calgary
The Machine Operator is responsible for fabricating light structural parts using sheet metal machinery while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate parts using punch, shear, brake, and laser machines (Amada, Durma)Read and follow drawings and work instructions accuratelyOperate hand tools and machinery safelyPerform quality checks on fabricated partsConduct basic machine maintenance as requiredFollow PPE, safety, and quality proceduresAssist with other tasks as assignedQualifications
Minimum 1 year experience on punch, shear, and brake machinesStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailComfortable working at heights and in varying conditionsForklift, overhead crane, or picker truck experience is an asset
