Operational Buyer - Tier 1 Automotive
Job Description
Overview of Role :
The Tier 1 Automotive Operational Buyer is authorizedto order goods and services from external vendors on behalf of corporateoffice.
The Operational Buyer is in charge of procurement of specific spendcategories for MRO goods and services whilst achieving the optimum quality,price, service level and availability for the plant.
In the limit of the spendcategories’ scope, identifies the specific goods and services as required fromexternal vendor or contractor.
- ensures delivery of goods and services to the internal user, at the right date, right place in the right quantity and quality, at the best price.
- ensures delivery of goods with all the required documents and accounting information.
Prepares, processes and expeditespurchase orders and transportation and customs documentation.
- check if the Purchase Request is correctly filled and if needed help the Purchase Requestor;
- find the best solution
price and quality) for the delivery of services or goods requested in the Purchase Request
- converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders;
- ensure the quality of data
- purchasing and accounting) in the Purchase Request and in the Purchase Order;
- ensure the alignment with purchasing rules and procedures;
- apply the strategic policies established by the Strategic Buyer
- transmitting purchase orders to external vendors;
- monitoring timely confirmation of purchase orders;
- monitoring transport issues linked to a material order;
- monitoring timely receipt of invoices which are not automatically treated by the invoice center;
- resolution of operational issues with external vendors;
- verifies vendor & / or contractor insurance coverage : maintains, contracts non-disclosure agreements, contractor rules & regulations provided by Engineering in vendor files;
- monitors performance of existing vendors and contractors and manages performance issues.
- maintain a close working collaboration with Purchase Requestors and Strategic Buyers
- inform the Strategic Buyer when repetitive requests are done to the same supplier and when a contract with that vendor is not in place.
Key Requirements :
Education : Completionof a Community College Diploma. Enrolled and working towards purchasing designation
Experience : Relevant experience in MRO buying in an automotive Manufacturingenvironment. Ideally with a Tier 1 automotive facility.
Working knowledge ofSAP an asset.
