Our client is seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist with at least one year of experience working in a hospital setting to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the front desk.
This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities :
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Check-in and check-out patients, ensuring all required information is collected and accurately recorded.
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and handle inquiries promptly.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, following up as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Provide patients with necessary forms and assistance in completing them.
- Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
- Inform patients of any delays or changes in their appointment schedule.
- Address patient concerns and complaints with empathy and professionalism.
- Enter patient data into electronic medical records (EMR) system accurately and efficiently.
- Process patient payments and issue receipts, maintaining accurate records of transactions.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts and files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed.
- Order and maintain office supplies and forms.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely and efficient patient flow.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Relay messages and information between patients and medical staff accurately.
Qualifications :
- Degree or diploma in medical office administration.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a receptionist in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
