Summary
We are recruiting for an Automation Project Manager who will be responsible for the execution of the entire automation scope of projects, with a large focus on Process and Safety Systems across all project components, and facilities. This role allows the incumbent the challenge of delivering a holistic OnePlant Automation Solution, from sensor to cloud, for large industrial facilities across a broad set of industries. Reporting to the Manager, Operations - Systems, Software & Solutions, you will lead a team to successfully deliver engineering design, configuration, integration, procurement, manufacturing, commissioning and start-up, and handover to Lifecycle services.
Working directly with customers, EPCs, OEMs and other third-party contractors, the successful candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, directing local and remote project teams. A key focus for this role will include customer relationship management, risk management and contract / interface management.
Role and Responsibilities

- Managing scope, cost, schedule, integrated change control and quality in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Accountable for project financials and reporting
- Engaging with project pursuit personnel (Business Development and Sales) to produce quality proposals that allow for seamless transition to project execution
- Provide leadership for the lifecycle of a project from sales handover to delivery of a quality solution, delivered to the Customer on time and on budget
- Accountable for engineering and design resources to ensure project scope is met
- Influencing project stakeholders to produce results in the best interest of the Customer and Spartan
- Experience with automation solutions, continuous historians, enterprise solutions, cloud connectivity, IT / OT and cybersecurity
- Experience with electrical systems, control panels, modular buildings, and integration of these components into a complete solution
- Interfacing and leading Spartan’s manufacturing team, outsourced entities, and third-party contractors to produce a quality solution
- Strong collaboration with internal and external project stakeholders
Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences or similar with or designation, or diploma in Engineering with CET or RET designationProject Management Professional (PMI-PMP) certification requiredExpert-level knowledge of project management processes, industry business drivers and customer relationsRisk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), Program Management Professional (PMI-PgMP) considered assetsAgile Project Management / Certification considered an asset12+ years relevant industry experience5+ years acting as a Senior Project ManagerProven record managing increasingly complex projects with successful customer outcomesAbility to work proactively in a fast-paced team environment and work to timelinesStrong negotiating skills; exceptional verbal and written communicationExtensive and exceptional customer relationship / service practicesStrong leadership skills, with ability to effectively work in team environmentHigh-level technical skills and willingness to learnProven organization and prioritization abilitiesEntrepreneurial work ethic, self-starter with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced team environmentWillingness to travel; travel to customer sites may be requiredThis position has been deemed Safety Sensitive.
