Job Description
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Food Produce Manager to set-up, oversee and maintain the condition of the produce department according to company standards.
You bring a strong background in retail sales, customer service, product quality and a passion for natural wellness.
Responsibilities
Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast, friendly customer service.
Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
Performs receiving duties including : verifying orders against invoices, reporting shortages and breaking down loads.
Cuts cases, stacks, prices, and marks merchandise. Maintains produce storage area.
Trims, cuts, wraps, trays, and displays produce. Prevents shrink, damage and spoilage of product. Builds produce displays, rotates and discards outdated or spoiled products to ensure freshness and quality.
Ensures proper pricing and signing of products. Uses related equipment such as knives, wrappers, scales, compactors, garbage disposals, hand trucks and pallet jacks.
Maintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor. Ensures a safe and secure work environment. Maintains the eye-appeal of the department.
Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.
Ability to be friendly, courteous, tactful and maintain composure in dealing with customers and co-workers.
Ability to learn taste, proper handling, preparation, seasonality, and perish-ability of product, and department policies and procedures.
Create Compelling displays that attract new and current customers.
Adhere to all seasonality changes and shifts.
Ensure pricing and Signage are up to date.
Create Inhouse sales and promotional ideas and plans.
New products - Constantly look and aim to improve the produce selection.
Create and maintain ongoing training plan and SOP for Instore day to day
Minimize wastage and spoil whilst maintaining highest quality levels.
Look to enhance the sustainable footprint of the store at all times.
Requirements
Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Prior experience in produce or as a Produce Lead
Valid Ontario Driver’s License
Strong interpersonal communication, leadership and decision making skills
Energetic, positive and confident disposition and ability to think creatively and quickly
Excellent time management and organization skills
Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
Strong knowledge of retail and / or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners & customers
