Be our new Business Relationship Support (BRS) to join our Prospera Team in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley regions.
You will support our Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) and The Regional Director, Business Banking (RDBB). Your responsibilities will include collecting and preparing annual review documentation, preparing reports, liaising with external parties such as insurance and merchant service providers.

What you'll do :
Act as primary support to the RDBB & aligned BRMs, and thereby to BB members. Prepare reports, maintain business lending and bring forward filing systems and responds to member enquiries.
Liaison with third parties, oversee delinquency tracking and follow through on some collective action.
- Maintain knowledge of personal and business products and services offered by the Prospera Credit Union.
- Assist the BRMs in the preparation of member credit applications and credit renewals and other supporting due diligence or monitoring and control.
- Provide advice specific to members' needs including but not limited to Business Online, cash management services, merchant, and payroll services under the guidance of business relationship managers.
Proactively refer members to BRMs as necessary.
Run various credit reports and other searches including land title and personal property security act (PPSA) searches, and complete telephone credit checks.
Create and maintain security files for follow-up on registration and renewal and for internal and external audit purposes.
Follow up to ensure required security is obtained and credit terms and conditions are met by following up with members and / or BRMs.
Prepare and document letters of credit and related indemnities for members. Draft related credit applications, supporting security pledges, and PPSA registrations and renewals.
Under the guidance of BRMs negotiates fees, collects fees, and sets up banking and diary systems. Follows up on annual reviews, documenting reviews, PPSA registrations, and fee collection as a support for aligned BRMs as part of their accountability for Portfolio Management.
Process and administer monthly syndicated loan payments and prepare payment charts for finance, commercial credit and business departments and syndicate partners.
Help maintain positive relationships with syndicated lenders by coordinating loan drawdown, ensuring payments are processed on time, and that appropriate records are shared with partners as required.
- Review various reports and under the direction of the BRMs contact members to arrange payment where necessary.
- Calculate and prepare loan payouts by applying established penalty and interest formulas. Prepare, process and complete mortgage payouts and discharges through source and manually, with approval by Management.
- Assist in the loan margining process by analyzing receivable lists, preparing margin cards, preparing letters for any required loan reductions, and collecting fees.
What you bring :
- 2 - 3 years in a front-line position within a financial institution with exposure to lending; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated capability in decision making and critical thinking.
- Proven ability to plan, schedule, organize and prioritize work priorities.
- Knowledge of cross-selling techniques and an understanding of banking systems, applications and technology.
- Understanding of business lending and deposit products and services and related policies, procedures, documentation requirements and legal processes.
- Skilled in accounting and financial statements.
