Job Title : Senior Instrumentation Designer
Location : Redwater, AB
Duration : 4-6 months contract term
Hours : Full-time, 10-hour days, Monday to Thursday
Job Description :
We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation Designer to join our team for an exciting project involving numerous ongoing projects and Management of Change (MOC) initiatives.
As a senior member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing instrumentation systems for various refinery equipment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in instrumentation design.
Responsibilities :
- Design instrumentation systems for a variety of refinery equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to develop detailed instrumentation drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
- Generate instrument datasheets, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Utilize SPI tools for efficient project management and documentation.
- Conduct flow meter sizing and measurement calculations.
- Assist in the implementation of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) where applicable.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers and project teams.
- Liaise with external agencies and vendors as necessary to procure instrumentation components and services.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) initiatives by evaluating proposed changes to instrumentation systems and providing design recommendations.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in instrumentation design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam for creating detailed instrumentation drawings and documentation.
- Strong understanding of flow meters and sizing methodologies.
- Familiarity with SPI tools for project management and documentation.
- Experience with PLCs would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience working with agencies and managing projects independently is preferred.
